That being said, below are my number one selling item(s) all revolving around the common core standard Reading Literature 4.5 which states:
"Explain major differences between poems, drama, and prose, and refer to the structural elements of poems (e.g., verse, rhythm, meter) and drama (e.g., casts of characters, settings, descriptions, dialogue, stage directions) when writing or speaking about a text."
In this first Poetry, Prose and Drama resource I use Shel Silverstein's poem titled Spaghetti and show my students the difference between the three types of literature by rewriting a Prose and Drama form of the poem. This is a fun and engaging way to involve students and to really illustrate the differences between the three!
